The Sum of All Fears This movie was actually more interesting than I thought it was going to be. And then they blew it to complete crap in the last 5 minutes. WTF was that? Why the hell did someone think that would be cute to end the movie with? WTF?

The Wedding Planner Jennifer Lopez plays an Italian woman very badly. The movie was actually kinda cute, though. Skippable, but cute. While watching it I realized that I will never have a whirlwind romance like that because it involves the guy somehow having to rescue the girl from some idiotic situation she's gotten herself into, and I'm perfectly capable of getting myself out of the stupid situations I find myself in.
JLo actually manages to get herself into two - first she gets her heel stuck in a drain in the middle of the street. Somehow a giant trash can comes barreling down the street towards her, and instead of leaving the shoe & getting it once the trash can has passed she sits there in the middle of the street trying to get it unstuck & nearly dies. Yes, she actually sees the trasch can & still VOLUNTARILY chooses to UNNECESSARILY rescue the shoe. Seriously, the trashcan had about a 99% chance of going right over the shoe without ever actually touching it. She was obviously trying to commit suicide, and she's probably just going to do it again, so why the hell did he bother rescuing her? And big surprise, later in the movie she does try to kill herself again! A horse takes off at a "wild" trot and she apparently can't figure out how the fuck to pull back on the reigns. A low branch finds it's way in her path, and while the horse is smart enough to know to duck, apparently JLo is not. Luckily the love of her life to be just happens to be there to pull her off the horse. Note to self: must lower survival instincts to increase odds of finding soul mate.

War I really like both Jason Statham and Jet Li, so it seemed like a good movie for me. It was good, with some good fight scenes, but not amazing & a little too predictable. Still fun to watch, though.
28.
The Heartbreak Kid This was pretty much what I expected it to be. Some way over the top stuff, and some really funny stuff. I added the
original to my queue, so looking forward to that.

Times and Winds A very interesting but depressing look at the lives of four adolescents in a small Turkish village. A little artsy at parts, but a really neat movie to watch if you like foreign independent movies.
30.
Me, Myself & Irene This movie came out during a period of my life when I was ridiculously sick of Jim Carrey. He's tuned it down since then & I no longer hate him, so looking back at one of his older movies that I missed seemed fun. It was over the top in parts, but pretty funny overall.
Also, because I was trying to remember the name of it this weekend, if you haven't seen or heard of it you should definitely watch Playing Mona Lisa. HILARIOUS movie, completely different from what the description makes it out to be, & I've added it to my queue to rewatch.
