Scoreboards and OMG injuries

I'll start with the injury front. Of course, biggest story during the All-Star weekend was that Sidney Crosby had an undiagnosed fractured cervical vertebrae (C1 & C2, the 2 at the very top)/broken neck that has fully healed. This was diagnosed by a spine specialist last week after reviewing his medical information (and probably a few X-rays). [cue angry Penguins fans/pseudo-armchair doctors freaking out]

I'll put my 2 cents in for what it's worth. What I don't understand about the whole is why is everyone so angry that it was missed? Yes, he had the "best" doctors available to him but honestly, when you ask a specialist to look at/for something, they're going to look for what they know/their area of expertise and they'll probably miss what isn't in their specialty. It certainly doesn't surprise me that a spine specialist diagnosed a spinal problem. In a way, it also doesn't surprise me that it went undiagnosed this long because you don't arbitrarily stick someone in an X-ray if you don't believe that it's necessary. He had a head injury as initially diagnosed and while one of his symptoms was neck soreness, there was never any indication that he may have actually FRACTURED his vertebrae at any point. If there are no indications for a test, why do it? And no, MRIs and CAT scans will not show a fractured vertebrae so no, they couldn't have caught it there either. [/somewhat medical related ramble]

Disclaimer: I do not claim to be a doctor or someone that actually knows what happened in the entire situation. I'm just throwing my opinion out there. It's my opinion.

Now that that's out of the way, scoreboards for tomorrow. Lots of games on but if you're a Penguins (or Leafs) fan, only 1 game REALLY matters.
- TOR vs. PIT: Penguins currently sit in 5th by winning their tiebreaker against Ottawa while Toronto is in a 3-way tie for 7th (currently sitting in 9th due to losing the tiebreaker). A win for the Penguins means that they move closer to the 4th spot (but will not surpass 4th place Philadelphia) while a win for the Leafs coupled with a New Jersey loss will bring them into 7th place (Florida isn't playing tomorrow). Penguins fans will want Philly to lose so the Penguins are within reaching distance of them. Penguins, PLEASE WIN. While I want the Leafs to make the playoffs, just win this game, please?
