Tonight after I cut my sons hair, I was sitting on the front porch watching him play. As I watched the play of his muscles and bones under his skin I was struck with a thought... he is no longer a toddler. When I was doing laundry and dishes and all the other things that I feel compelled to do every day, he became a little boy. He is no longer a miniature of me or his father. He is developing his own personality and being more than a little obnoxious about it if you ask me. He was playing in the dirt with a stick as a pretend candle on a dirt birthday cake singing "Happy Birthday to Mommy" at the top of his lungs. He is growing up so very fast.
