My weekend

Went up to Seattle to visit michelleann68 for our Birthday weekend. It seems to have become a tradition for her to do the Rock and Roll half marathon and for us to watch the Pride Parade each year at this time.

The weather was awesome for the marathon....overcast and not too hot. But just as Michelle was getting in at the finish line, it started to rain. Then it started to pour. It didn't take long for us to be completely soaked. We weren't too far from Michelle's place, but her feet hurt and we saw a pedicab. That was a bit of an adventure o.o;

The Parade on Sunday was fun. We camped out on some chairs in front of Yellow Leaf (OMG, they had my fav, cupcake, cinnamon roll!! that day!). Normally the parade is a couple hours, but this year...three and a half! There are a lot more businesses showing support, which added to the time, plus some badly spaced gaps. There were two guys announcing by where we are with speakers. They were hilarious, but it made it impossible to have much of a conversation. I'll post up some pics when I get a chance to look at them.

And now today, Monday. Heading back home...maybe. I am on Amtrak. We pulled no further than a mile out of the station when it was declared that the train was having some sort of engine troubles and we had to head back into the station. Supposed to leave 40 minutes ago. Mechanics still looking it over. Something to do with keeping the train from reaching the right speed. Passengers can get off the train and smoke on the platform, but a lot of the smoke is floating back in here.

uuugh.
