Good heavens (totally inappropriate exclamation, but there you go), you do write an amazing Sebastian!! Like Jourugumo (whose name I have likely butchered in spelling), you have nailed the very essence of predator, with all the twisted logic and wiles of a demon as well. And to see him bandy terms and such with Wata-- oh, now that is a brilliant dance! And Wata, so very cautious and aware of the danger sitting there, drinking his tea in his Shop. Delicious!
Watanuki is clearly a brave, brave man- who would've thought that the spastic young fellow who'd been terrified as a lad of even harmless spirits would end up bargaining with a demon with such total equanimity! Cautious, yes, but he seems so confident as well, as though he's quite aware that if he keeps his head, that he holds all the cards in this situation. Or at least, that he can keep it under control.
And his price... oh, I cannot even tell you how intrigued I am by that! As much so as Sebastian himself- and of course a demon would have some wry respect for such
( ... )
Oh, but one other thing I'd meant to mention-- the cakes. How very interesting that Watanuki insists Sebastian have some. Makes me wonder, in some odd way, who this really benefits. Hmm. Curious.
I just realized, reading your comment and glancing up, that I totally wrote "pleasing eyes" instead of "pleading eyes". Jeez- I really need to start self-editing better, or you're gonna think I'm hitting on you or something.
