Meeting in the Corridor II

May 13, 2004 14:00

We had one more encounter just before we reached the hatch leading to the Revenge - a female Vulcan. The analog of
Storvik's wife T'Vit, to be precise. She was carrying a phaser in one hand, and a device to block Imperial surveillance cameras and recorders in the other. Unauthorized possession of either device was punishable by death by agonizer booth.
"You are my replacement on the
ISS Murgatroid?" I asked.
"Yes," she replied. "You will put us all in danger."
"We have been in danger for centuries," I replied. "Stand aside. It is preferable that I not be interrogated."
"I should kill you to prevent that."
"Possibly," I said, indicating to
Storvik that he should maintain his silence. "Or you could let me go. I cannot be a danger if I am gone - and I may yet find an answer to our problem."
She thought, and then stepped out of our way. "Attempt your escape. If you are recaptured, I will arrange for you to die before you are broken." She looked at
Storvik. "Both of you." She lowered her weapon and turned to walk away.
I immediately knocked her unconscious with a blow her head, and relieved her of the items she was carrying. I did not attempt to kill her, and indicated to my analog that the time for conversation was still not upon us.
We had arrived at the Revenge's docking hatch.
