back to school, back to school
One of my students began going to public school last week. Starting tomorrow I will be going with her for a couple of days to aid in the transition and help her teachers with any questions or concerns. Now the interesting part is that she is going to Kindergarten at the same school where I went to Kindergarten. I went to their website to look up directions and am already having flashbacks! I also looked up staff members to see if my old first grade teacher was still there. (She and I didn't have the greatest of relationships after she discovered I was leading an underground "don't do your work" revolution) She's gone, but there are people whose names I recognize. Now I'm a little intimidated. One teacher is friends with my parents and I knew her from church. I was good friends with her son, but we lost touch after high school. I also found someone whom I think might be the mother of my childhood best friend. We lost touch after 5th grade. Then there are some people whom I'm pretty sure I went to school with their children (dear lord I hope not their spouses ::shudder::) and some I'm scared I went to school with. I don't know why I loathe running into people I haven't seen in awhile. I'm not particularly unhappy with my life. I guess we'll just have to see how it plays out. In any event, I'll get to see my former student for a couple of days which I am ecstatic about. I have missed her!
