Has it been this long again?! I guess it has, so without further ado, here's what's new in my little TV-world...
Let's start with the big news: Lost is back and I really liked the first three episodes. The time travel stuff is pretty confusing but I don't mind as long as there are so many awesome twists and turns (Widmore on the island!!). Yet I'm kinda surprised that the ratings seem to be steady, I'm actually pretty impressed (and approving) that they don't even try to get the casual viewer interested anymore. Not that the ratings would matter that much anymore, since the end date is already set. As it is for Battlestar Galactica and oh my, I can't even imagine what's it gonna be like once this show is done. I loved all of the episode since the break, especially the last one, which is among my five favorite episodes of the show ever. And from what I've read, everyone seems to agree. No agreeing regarding Supernatural, it seems as if season 4 is turning out be an either love or hate season. I'm still in the "love-camp" and I honestly don't get (most of) the criticism regarding the last episode. I think the casting for the young Winchesters was perfect and yes, I can totally see Dean as a dick in high-school (there, I said it). Doesn't make me love the cahracter any less. Also loved the magician-episode, the guest-stars were great and the ties to the season-arc well done. So yeah, really don't get the dislike/hate. Want an example where I get it: House. Seriously, "Foreteen" is just annoying AND boring, as is most of the Baby-storyline. And most of the recent cases didn't do much for me either. Still loving Kutner and Taub, though. From medical mysteries to science mysteries and to be honest, I STILL don't know what to make of Fringe. Just when I think they finally found out what makes the show work, they're back to the standard mediocrity. Unfortunately, "mediocrity" is what I would use to describe the recent episodes of Burn Notice, too. There are still some parts I love about the show (the Michael/Sam-interaction in the last episodes has been truly great) but it's mostly standard-cases and it seems more and more as if they're trying to stall with the main-strolyine. Probably because it's already renewed for a third season. Speaking of renewals, seems like there won't be one for Friday Night Lights. Which would make 3x13 the series finale. On the one hand, that would make me very sad, because the show was so awesome this season. On the other hand, at least it would have ended on a (extremely) high note. Wait, there is no possible way to find a transition between "high note" and season 3 of Heroes, is there? Yeah, I finally watched "Volume 3" (you didn't really think I wouldn't?!) and while it really sucked hard most of the time (OMG, just thinking about the retcon-episode...) at least it got kind of entertaining again with the last two episodes (I even think that "Our Father" was a rather good episode). So, I'll do the reverse approach, pretend that season 1 didn't exist and just watch it as mindless entertainment. If I want quality, I can still go with Dexter. Finished season 1 and loved all of it. I'm a little worried because I keep reading that season 1 is far superior to the other seasons, but I think I'll find out for myself. Well, that's the status for now, which, of course, will change tonight because Chuck is finally back and I'm sooo looking forward to it. And then there will be new episodes of Life (this week) and Terminator: SCC (next week). Oh, and the start of Dollhouse, of course. so yeah, TV will keep me busy and I'll keep you posted. Well, sooner or (rather) later. :)
