How did I just spend $150 at Trader Joe's?

You know your life is getting exciting when a friend overhears you discussing your trip to Ecuador and thinks you're talking about this year's 10-day LARP. Anyway, back at school. I'm taking a grad class called "Power and Negotiation," which will fit nicely with next term's "How to Stage a Revolution." My dorm is as immature as ever, and my overnight in a nuclear reactor apparently had no lasting consequences.

The real point of this entry, however, is that YOU, TOO, CAN TURN ANY PHYSICAL SURFACE INTO A SPEAKER! For only $25, plus s&h (unless you order over $100), plus cabling and solder iron:

1. Buy amplifier: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=300-385
2. Buy transductor-thingummy-that-translates-sound-waves-to-any-surface: http://www.parts-express.com/pe/showdetl.cfm?Partnumber=309-148
3. Solder an audio cable and power supply to your amp.
4. Hot-glue transductor-thingummy to surface.
5. Attach amp to transductor-thingummy, and iPod to amp.
6. Rock out.
