This-and-that
*Why is it that when EM Jr skips his nap, I'm the one who ends up crispy-fried. I need him to have recharging time, dammit!
*In other news, we went to the Outrageous Outgrowns shopping event, which is a massive sale of used children's gear & clothing at the county fairgrounds. Good stuff, though it was a little scandalous how much people thought their used crap should bring in. I'm sorry: $25 for a child's outfit is steep even when new. But used? Ludicrous!
We got a couple of books, a summer hat, 2 pairs of PJs and a short-sleeved dress shirt (ETA: and also a pair of black leather dress shoes) for $35. Not bad. EM Jr is now rapidly on his way to memorizing the phrase "chicka chicka boom boom" and will no doubt torment us by endless demands to reread the book.
After the shopping expedition, we went to a Hawaiian BBQ joint. Mr Macaroni got a massive chicken combination platter, the sight of which made his eyes bulge out. I stuck to my traditional spam and katsu musubi (essentially a big rectangular sushi but with unseasoned rice, meat instead of raw fish and wrapped in a piece of seaweed). Very yummy!
*Today's high point was the receipt of a new pair of shoes that I won on Ebay. Past shoe purchases on Ebay have been iffy but this was a trusted brand and sure enough the sizing is correct. They're a bit snug with me wearing my thickest socks but good for work and at 1/3 of the new-from-the-store price.
*I wanted to go to bed early but both cats invaded my lap and I was trapped in front of the TV. Bad kitties!
