Ed has every reason to worry considering how he watched Alfonse Heiderick's health pretty quickly deteriorate with consumption once it got a hold of him.

It's funny, but even when he was dressed in Ed's old coat, or the equivalent, I thought Al still looked like he was neater than Ed ever was.

Yes. Actually, this scene is kind of what inspired In Broken Dreams; I had a similar one in my head, er, back in 2006 or 2007, not sure which.

Al is fussier.
