Ed is valiantly trying to keep it under wraps, but he's just not all that good at keeping secrets. Bless.

I don't think Ed's going to want to leave this Winry behind. Partly because she's a Winry and he cares about Winrys, but especially because he knows she's been abandoned before. I see Manga Ed as kind of having a bit of a Thing about abandoning people. Anime Ed not so much, clearly.

Well, it depends on the secret. But Al, who reads him so well....

I really have enjoyed this particular story. Honestly, I can't remember ever reading a fic where this type of situation has been explored, at least not seriously. Al is great in this chapter. He's always been my favorite FMA character, and I love the way you write him in all of your stories (hint: write more Al stories!). It'll be interesting to see what happens when he either figures out what this Mustang did, or Pinako tells him. Al isn't Ed. He doesn't fly tend to off the handle, but out of the two I'd rather have Ed angry at me than Al.

Great job!

Thank you so much for the compliments!

Actually, I feel I don't do Al justice. He and Riza are very hard for me to write, hence I don't do a lot in their POVs.

Al isn't Ed. He doesn't fly tend to off the handle, but out of the two I'd rather have Ed angry at me than Al.

I really agree with you on this point, in so many ways.

Ed managed to keep quiet, but I am curious to see what Pinako is willing to say. Depending on how he reacts, I wouldn't want to be in Roy's shoes.

I also liked the hints of what is to come from Roy and Riza in that last bit. I am looking forward to seeing where you take this.

Oh, Ed, you know Al will find out, even if you don't tell him (but it's nice to try and keep a promise.)
Loved Riza and her polite way to imply sulking. ^_^ Chin up, at least Roy isn't angsting anymore (for the moment.)

Ed tries. Al just knows how to read him that well.

He's sulking - Riza

Catch 22... Leave them there to recouperate means they'll be stronger for the journey home... it'll also make leaving a zillion times harder on everyone.

Ohhhh T_T Ed knows about Winry's parents... that's bad.

That's Ed's secret, definitely.
