In season four, Marshall gets a girlfriend (Abigail), and Mary's ex-husband (of thirty-six hours) popped up because Brandi friended him on Facebook. Mary and Mark had sex, and, well.... :D

(Also, Mary McCormick was pregnant, so that was written into the storyline.)

Season five is going to be the last season for IPS, though. ;_;
