Give Me Prompts!

Mar 10, 2019 19:22

So, I want to do some writing. Maybe you want to help?

Give me a prompt. Please, no pairings nor fandom.

I will write you a fic - it might be very short, it might be up to 1,000 words. It may be fandom related. It may be original.

Thanks!

*rubs hands together and cracks knuckles* if you'd like more let me know. I LOVE giving prompts. Hope these prompts help. Hope at least one Sparks your muse. 😁

Who would have thought that everything they'd been looking for was right in front of them.

Grief is not linear

People who hide their feelings usually care the most.

Let me tell you a few things about regret...There is no end to it. You cannot find the beginning of the chain that brought us from there to here. Should you regret the whole chain, and the air in between, or each link separately as if you could uncouple them? Do you regret the beginning which ended so badly, or just the ending itself?

It's something unspoken.

They don't try and hide who they are.

Too scared to admit their feelings because they don't want their friendship to end.

"To be honest, that first year living in Riveroak was hell." Unsure what to do with his hands, Tod swept them over his hair then settled them in front of him on the table. He tapped his laced fingers against the table top a couple of times. His gaze drifted over the wood grain, lost in the pattern. Finally, he raised his eyes. "Back then, I had black outs." Tod shook his head, a bare vibration of motion, just enough to make his hair shift. "I'd lose days at a time. Months."

He caught his lower lip between his teeth and slowly dragged it free again. "Before I wound up here, I was...I was in New York for a while. I think. There were some pictures of me...I think it was New York. But I don't know how I got here. I didn't then, I mean. I figured it out now.

"Back then, I didn't know I had a parasitic twin. That he could take over...blot out everything. Made me a different person entirely. The only thing he liked about this town was the quiet. He didn't care for the wolves or the vamps; thought the witch folk were after him." Tod hesitated, the faint flash of a smile quirking the corners of his mouth. "Probably would've been, if they'd realized what he was. But he could hide in plain sight here, mostly.

"Only mostly because of the pack. Packs know each other really well. They know when someone's doing something different and even if I was a punk kid, they started reading me the instant Sophie dragged me in front of them. Whenever Jonathan - that's his name - took over, they knew it wasn't me."

Tod shifted his weight. "Yeah. So...Jonathan died but not before some heavy shit went down." The pause lasted just long enough to be uncomfortable before he said, "You met me at a really weird time of my life." His teeth flashed in something not quite a smile. "But Riveroak's weirder than me still."
