* I stabbed my left hand while hulling a strawberry exactly two weeks ago. Emergency Room, Stitches, infection, the whole nine yards. The scab peeled off last night but my left forefinger is still sore - from the hematoma in my palm. Hurts like an s.o.b. to type.
* Truck, Connor Grey, died on the Sunday one week ago. Turned out he had a water pump going bad. I didn't need that expense on top of my E.R. visit, but...
* Dog meds were also more expensive than I expected.
* Speaking of dogs, I stopped to rescue one last Thursday, a tiny thing that on first sight, was a cat. It was only when I got within fifty feet I realized it was a dog, wandering around in traffic on a very busy street. I managed to get it off the road, capture it, and it bit my left hand three times, my right wrist once, and I have this amazing bruise on my chest. Good thing I'm already on antibiotics.
* The dog turned out to be a 6-year-old girl's pet.
* A kitten got stuck up inside the body of my truck on Friday. I heard a howling sound when I arrived at Mom's house for lunch but it quieted down so I couldn't pinpoint it. Went back to work, drove back to Mom's, and around 8:00 p.m. that night, the neighbors were knocking on the door - "You have a kitten in your truck." It took about 45 minutes to fish said kitten out and it has been homed across the street.
* Saw something weird in the sky Saturday night - looked like a comet. It was out for about four hours that I saw. No one else saw it but my Mom. Why was I outside that late? Not walking my dogs, no - everyone in the neighborhood heard a gunshot-like sound and we all spilled outside to find out what was going on. (I still don't know.)
* No word yet from the attorney of the guy who wants to buy my house.
