Christmas= Diss-mus

 Ok, so that wasn't a great rhyme.

My family is making this Christmas HELL. My dad decided he wants to go see his mother (which is fine, he does so almost every Christmas), my sister and her husband are driving to TN on Christmas Day, my brother and his gf will be joining us and my mother is moody about going out of her house on a holiday. Welcome to my world family! I do that EVERY year. No one is happy about driving half an hour to come see me.
*sigh*

My sister is SET on having tamales. The trick? She doesn't have the time to make them. Um, so WE have to make them? No, sorry. So now she's pissed. She doesn't want ham, "Ham is not for Christmas, that's such a thanksgiving dish" - well, that's what I'm making. My mom complained, but for the right reason, because she doesn't want us to stress out about it while my sister moans about having tamales ready on time just because she's craving them. Tough love. I told them to just pack their gifts, get ready and drive here. I told them not to worry about one single dish, that I would take care of everything. I just want a nice Christmas where everyone is happy.

Yesterday, I went ahead and ordered 18 tamales for Christmas; just so she's not bitching and making everyone moody on the day we're suppose to be celebrating. I even ordered champurado so that she doesn't have that 'somethings missing' feeling since they pair up great together. She had the nerve to tell me "We could've made all that" - right, WE as in my mom and I. Ugh.

James was really disappointed that they're still putting me through all the stress even though they're basically being fed and comforted. I agree; one day they will see everything I do for them.

I wrapped up my Christmas shopping yesterday. I was able to get my student loans put on hold for 6 months so I can play catch up with bills and put some money aside while James finds a job.

I went to a local antique store and OMG, I realize now why I'm not rich. If I was rich, I'd have such a shabby chic home full of antiques and history filled things. It would be amazing. I am SET on getting a tea set (mug, 2 plates) for me. I would LOVE a pretty little colorful tea set from England. Ugh, to die for. I bought James a stein that was made in West Germany; probably right after WWI. It's beautiful.

Anyways, there's more to today....
