Weekend Treasures

This weekend came and left too swiftly.

On Friday, the owner took myself and the marketing director to a Duck's hockey game. Front Row, Seat 1. You really can't get any closer. I was banging on the shields as the opponents crashed into it. We also had passes to a lounge with unlimited amounts of alcohol. I had 3 beers and talked sports with the owner.  I got home and James and I exchanged gifts. He bought me Glee: Season 1 on Blu-ray! I got him the complete set of Band of Brothers on Blu-ray. We curled up and watched the first part of B.O.B. It is addicting. I absolutely love it and I can't wait to see another one.

Saturday morning started "Day of Celebration" so I ground up some double dutch coffee beans for coffee, made eggs and warmed up some waffles. We sat at the table and had a yummy breakfast. James started doing laundry and I started cleaning some of the kitchen when I unsuccessfully tried to get to the bank. His monies (for taxes) is set aside into one of my bank accounts for when tax time comes around. Since he's a contract worker, he's on a 1099 so I make sure to distribute it where it needs to go. Anywho, there are 2 of those banks that I know of that are semi close. Both were closed on Saturday by the time I got to them. Craptastic. I decided to go and get my flu shot. Drive thru ftw. Kaiser is having these 'drive-thru' services where you pull up, show them your medical insurance, they fill out your paper work and then drive up to a nurse who gives you your vaccine. Sweet! I didn't even have to get out of the car! LOL I drove to Home Depot and picked up some more gardening stuff. I got home, did some gardening, planted a few more things and skipped lunch. I helped with clothes and then we got all prettied up and headed to Cannons in Dana Point. We decided to just go all out. We were seated by the glass and it had an amazing view! We ordered Bruschetta as our appetizer of choice and a bottle of Riesling at the table. I ordered a Seafood Rigatoni with a candied walnut apple salad and James had the Filet Mignon. The food was superb. I couldn't finish my rigatoni, I think I ate 1/4 of my plate. I had the rest boxed to go, which I am having for lunch today. We walked around the beach in Dana Point and then headed home.

Sunday was another cleaning day. I manned the kitchen after breakfast and another episode of B.O.B while James vacuumed. We also double teamed the grill and it's now ready to be grilled on again! I started sorting clothes into the closets because I have not had the time to get this done. I really should stop being so lazy. After a shower and getting ready, we went to do some recycling; thanks to my husbands love for beer, we got $15! LOL It's probably the most we've ever gotten back for our recyclables. I didn't know Chad and Sean (James' friends from Florida) had planned to go to the house, so we drove straight home and they soon arrived. We all joked around and played a few rounds of Mortal Kombat and then headed out to the Yard House in Irvine for beer. Then we went to Dave N Busters where we all came out winners :)

Today they stole my husband for a day of festivities since it is Chad's, his best friends (but more like a brother) b-day. I know to expect my husband at an ungodly hour and more than likely drunk LOL I just hope they drive safely. Tonight I need to run some errands, the biggest being grocery shopping. I have an extensive list of things for my big Mexican cook-off tomorrow! I also need to come home and do some food prep so I don't have to do it all at once when I get home from work. I am really flattered they requested my cooking :)

It's lunch time for me!
