Snakes & Nature

Today I had the coolest job ever. I was a snake handler. Yup, I got to hang out with a snake at an education center telling little kids and frightened adults just how awesome they are. I had the pleasure of introducing Bob the Corn Snake to people of all ages. Bob apparently fell in love with me; it was love at first sight for both of us. He enjoyed me and I kept telling the museum staff that I would gladly take him home. Bob has been with the Tucker Wildlife Sanctuary for 7 of his 10 years of life. What a lucky fella; some of the local kids already knew him by name. I felt so at peace walking in and out the back to handle the cages. I was told I was welcomed back anytime to volunteer. I got the site managers card and she told me to email her and let her know when I'd like to come in. Weekends sound like a good idea. As I was leaving some of the other museum staff members asked if they could take a look inside my purse because they were sure Bob was going to run away with me. LOL They're a really nice group of people. They have a 'Bats' Day in October that I will more than likely try to sign up for.

I have an insane medicine schedule going on. It looks like the chart of some 80 year old lady.
Thankfully, I'm starting to feel better. The coughing still sounds/feels horrible, but it is less frequent and I can breathe a little easier with the steroids. I'm guessing I still have another week before I can say I am feeling good again.

I took a nap when we got home since I was on my feet from 8am-2pm and now I'm not really sleepy. I'm going to go prepare for tomorrow.
