That... gets complicated. I'm going to speculate slightly on how things might have gone and if I'm mistaken in how your version of Hades would react to over enthusiastic wiggling, attmepts at lap-sitting and face licking, by all means please call me on it.
At the moment, Cerberus is a puppy. A puppy who was taken away from his mother and littermates at a very early age and had an enormous responsibility thrust on his shoulders. He probably attempted to be sloppily affectionate to Hades a few times in the beginning before the ground rules were set. Now though? Now he just wants to please. To make the alpha happy. You want the gate watched, boss? He'll watch it night and day, day and night (not that you can tell down here, of course) until he's told to do something else.
At the same time he's more intelligent than a mortal dog. Hades is not a warm god. Hades, in all probability has the power to wipe Cerberus from existence. So Cerb kind of walks on eggshells around him. For a very long time Hades could do no wrong. Now that he's in the throws of adolescence, Cerberus isn't too sure about that anymore. But hey, he's just the dog. The omega in the pack heirarchy. And Hades takes care of him. Whatever doubts he may have? He'll be keeping them to himself.
