One thing's been floating around in my mind for the past month and now the answer to my questions, well, some of them, is here.
Proposal 2 went through. Gay marriage=impossible in Michigan, as well as 11 other states. So let's see... gay marriage is banned in 11 states, including civil unions, marriage is allowed in one state (go Massuchussettes), and then in the rest it's up in the air. It upsets me that I live in a state that bans gay marriage. :(
Brian was talking about his Mom's view on it the other night. He shared that his mom would've voted no if marriage were like it was 50 years ago [mommy and daddy stay together forever and raise lots of little babies], but since people have pretty much fucked up marriage nowdays, what's the harm in letting gays marry? Here's some statistics for your ass:
In 1950, the divorce rate for Michigan was 22.5%. In 2003, the divorce rate for married couples in Michigan was 47%. About 1/3 of those people who got divorced did so because one or both parties commited adultery. Of the 47% of people who got divorced in 2003, 15% have already been remarried.

They'll eventually win. It's only a matter of time before they do.
