(no subject)
An interesting thing happened today. I went to a doctor's appointment, got my blood taken and went to go sit in my assigned room.Well, one of my doctor's assistants (I had taked to her about the book Wicked before) came in to chat. We talked about various things, books, politics, health. Then the subject of college arose. I told her that I had been accepted to UGA and that I'd be attending there in the fall. She asked what I was going to be pursuing and what I was going to do for the summer. I told her that I was going into special effects, and that I was trying to get a summer job. At this point she kinda perks up and looks like an idea is forming into her head. She then tells me of a college friend of hers that lives here in GA, who is a member of the Screen Actors Guild and works on building sets for movies filmed here in Georgia (ie, Driving Miss Daisy, etc) and he does a lot of apprenticing. I asked her if there was any way she could contact him, and she said he loved having cheap labor, so she was gonna call him and see if she could set something up.
Now, If this isn't just a one in a million chance, I don't know what is. I hope she can convince him to take me on, because that would be my dream job for the summer. It would get me prepared for what life in that business would be like, and it could give me something to put on my resume. But, if not, then my name will still be out there, and hopefully I can meet people. I really hope she calls me soon.
On a side note. My mouth is all healed on the inside, and the massive hole is almost filled in all the way. I'm going to be getting my wisdom teeth removed, soon, but for now i just want to relax and soak up the summer sun. Someone needs to go to the pool with me, or at least to the park.
