Statement: Potamos will be doing a lot less of her own dirtywork from here on in. It's much more fun and less stress for her to watch her minions confuse you all~.
Essay:
The trick to a character of Potamos' standing is balancing her motivations based on what canon presents. And what canon presented was a moody, egotistical, jealous, silly character--all without any hint of backtstory. Which leaves me doing a lot of guesswork with what context clues were provided.
- We know that Potamos has power--quite a bit of it.
- We know she often gets her way, mostly through trickery and cunning.
- We know that SHE doesn't know she's capable of love, as of yet.
- We know she's capable of caring for something other than herself.
- We know the Love Wave can be particularly lethal to full-demons.
That said, she's coming across a lot of difficulties while at camp. The humans are a lot less obliging than she's become accustomed to. They're not entirely closing her out, however, but it's entirely confusing to her. Why are all of these humans so powerful? Why would one woman work to trap so many into such a small space? Why are they all simply GOING ALONG WITH IT? Doesn't add up.
However, that--the Director's plot--takes a backseat to Potamos' biggest concern: Yousuke. He's just not responding favorably to her, if at all. He DOES ignore her, or is trying to leash her in, and she's...uncomfy with that, to say the least. Topping her irritations on her lack of progress is Peach.
She HATES Peach, and everything the Angel stands for. It's not understandable to her that Viento could LOVE anything, at the very least, one Angel. And that's what Peach, and everyone else, to a lesser note, is saying. That Viento loves this frail, lying, weak little bitch. That Viento would throw his life away for Wedding Peach (and remember, Love = DEATH, for the Akumazoku). It's not connecting that such a powerful demon would make such a worthless gesture for absolutely no gain.
Potamos has power and influence, if she so wants it--manipulating humans and human emotions is not terribly difficult. She has beauty, charm, and passion. She's also curious and exploritive (and this WILL bite her in the arse, later on). Viento doesn't need to do much else, simply ACCEPT Potamos fully. Hell, he can have Momoko as a part of a harem for all she cares, so long as Potamos is the one on top. (And again the conflict with Reine Devila's agenda arrises, but remember: Potamos First, Agenda Later).
But...that's not what's happening. Peach still tops. and it doesn't. Make. Sense.
They bicker, fuss, hiss, and catscratch each other. And Momoko is an overly-trusting idiot. With no skills, or appeal...nothing that's important. But Viento sides with her. Favors the Angel over Potamos.
The hatred of Momoko really starts sinking in. Now, the words the Angel speaks are starting to ring with a hint of truth. And that truth, that Love is greater than Desire and Power to an Akumazoku, especially one of the Rafaal, leaves Potamos feeling alone and confused. And if there's two states of being she CANNOT tolerate, it's being being lost and alone.
Goals:
- Pull Yousuke aside for A Talk.
- Try to convince him of his stupidity.
- Imitate/intergrate human S&M philosophies, if necessary.
- Pull Kyon aside and plot a social.
- Send the bunny out to observe camp.
- Find out Momoko's REAL angle. :/
- Investigate the Director.
- Drag Yousuke HOME, if necessary. SOON.
