So I might have a good job here soon. Yesterday, I had an interview with a company called Sonitrol. Basically it's a security surveillance company and the position that I interviewed for was an Alarm Operator. I would be monitoring any and all security systems that our clients send us and I watch and see if any alarms go off. If they do, I call the client and then I call the police if it’s considered a real problem. The guy that I interviewed with said there have been times when you are watching robberies occur and can hear the criminals talking as they do so. Research on the company says that they have caught over 157,000 criminals! I’m really excited because this kind of work goes with my degree and will be great on my resume when/if I try to apply for other positions within my field. They took my background information, which I don’t think they would have done if they weren’t interested, and I filled out an employment application. The lady that took my forms said that everything looked good and that if my background and references came back clean, then there would be no reason not to move forward and that training would start on Monday! I believe I would be starting off at $9.00 per hour, have all the benefits and it would be full time. I really hope this is something that I will enjoy and can move up in. I saw a couple of girls my age there so I know this is something I could do. Then I could finally quit Target! Omg, please! I don't want to do another Christmas season there! I want to be outta there before my 6th year mark comes around. If I get this job, then squees and celebration dinners and a present for myself are in order! After nearly two years of having my BA, I will have found something in this shitty economy. Something I found by myself and not having to know someone within the company!
I also got offered a position the day before my interview to be a Process Server. That is where you try and find the people who need to go to court and tell them that they have been served. It looked really interesting, but of course it can be really dangerous if you have to serve a psycho and the pay is based off the number of times you successfully serve someone. I haven't replied back because I hope to hear something back from Sonitrol soon.
In other news, I have to work a crappy 4 hour closing shift tonight. Tomorrow, I'm going with my mom to see about getting me into the process to get a credit card so I can start building good credit because if I get this job, I will be bringing in some good money to add to my checking/savings and I want to get started on moving out! Will probably need good credit for that so might as well start on it.
That's all for now!
