A Target Rant
If you need help, do not creep up behind me as I'm working and wait there until I feel that sensation of someone behind me or I turn around and ram into you. That is fucking creepy! You are all big grown-ups and can politely ask for help. I don't have the Jedi Mind to seek out your presence nor do I have the time to stand there and try to figure out if you need help or are just trying to look past me at items on the shelf.
Elderly people who are intentionally rude piss me off to no end. After my break, I came downstairs and was working in Women's clothing. No sooner did I start my work then I heard this older lady calling to me. I walked over to her and she started in, "I HAVE BEEN CALLING AND CALLING YOU FOR THE PAST 10 MINUTES!" *SNORT* "YOU MUST HAVE A HEARING PROBLEM." Impossible, I have been upstairs for the past 15 minutes on my break and there is no way you are getting away with talking to me like that. "Ma'am, I have been on my break, so I don't know who you were calling for, but it was NOT me and I can hear just fine." *GLARE* She looks frazzled for a minute, but then retorts, "Oh, well she looked like you." Yeah, whatever.... I just hurried and helped her so we could end the conversation.
Next situation also involved another elderly lady. She and her daughter bought like over a 100 little cans of cat food. As I was ringing her up, she complained the whole time about how frustrating it was that we didn't keep the cans in their boxes. She told me this five times! Finally I said, "Ma'am, people do not usually buy bulk of these cans when they come here. We have to take them out, it says on the packages to do so when we unwrap them, plus our shelves are not big enough to fit the boxes like that." Sweet Zombie Jesus. What the hell do you think complaining to me will do. She replies, "But I have 8 cats!" I DON'T CARE! GO TO A FLIPPING PET STORE! BUY BAGS OF THE CAT FOOD! You having 8 cats is not my problem and you going out of your way to make getting them food difficult is your own doing....
Uh, the pain of having to deal with frustrating customers!
