Haunted by specters
I can't concentrate.
I can't work.
I can't stop hitting "refresh" on every news website I can call up. Mainly because I can't forget 2000 and 2004, and the indignities they wrought.
Hopefully I'll be able to get some sleep tonight. I don't have any illusions that one man can change a lot, but I just want to see how our country behaves after today is over.
Oh, and my team members just started getting 15-minute meeting planners for tomorrow morning. That can only mean one thing: more layoffs and re-orgs. The fourth round this year.
No wonder it is both a blessing and a curse to say "may you live in interesting times."
