My custom Loreto blend
So I decided to try getting a blend from Loreto after seeing all the glowing reviews. :)
When I went to her Etsy site, I didn't see the $12 "pick your own notes blend", so I paid the extra money and did the "custom scent with profile" but just added what notes I wanted to my profile sheet I sent her.
I got my scent yesterday...
Sadly, it really isn't me at all. The most dominant notes are cinnamon and then juniper and balsam. Those notes almost never work on me. I didn't tell her to not include piney notes, but I did say I didn't like spicy notes. I had asked for "Honey, the most pure decadent vanilla, Egyptian Musk, Leather, Cotton Candy, Plum, and Teak". The only note I got from that list was honey... but she also put in plum blossom. But the floral is different from the fruit on me.
Overall, it's a pretty scent, but not one for my tastes. It's very spicy and outdoorsy. I do appreciate the time she put into it and the profile she gave me was fun to read for sure. The throw is very good but the staying power is pretty short. It may be since I got a spray instead of an oil.

TINA
Top notes: Plum blossom, blood orange, juniper, honey
Middle notes: Cinnamon, frankincense, spanish moss
Base: Ambergris, sandalwood, white musk, balsam peru
I'd still love to try a scent based on the original notes I gave her... since I do think it would be a lovely scent. :)

Loreto graciously offered to make me a blend based on the notes I suggested.
I wanted to add her response to my post so any of you that were unsure of ordering a blend from her, can understand her process and feel confident to order your own blend. :)

Hi Tina,
Thanks for letting me know. I'm sorry you were disappointed. You can definitely return the perfume and I can blend another one that is more "you" including all of the notes from your list.
I wanted to explain my thinking so you know why I went with the notes I picked instead of yours. Usually when I do a Perfume Profile I gather information about you and I come up with a formula based on your personality, sun-sign, etc. The formulas are usually successful. I'm sorry it didn't work out and I am willing to keep trying until I get it right. I would much rather you have a scent you *love* and that's more important to me than anything else :)
When people tell me they prefer certain notes I add those as well. I thought your list of notes were just suggestions and that I should pick one or two of those for the blend. Since only the honey worked with my formula I went with that one. I did not realize you wanted me to include *all* of the notes on your list. I suspect the misunderstanding occurred because I offer another Custom Perfume where you pick your own notes. (It says you can pick up to five, but I often include more if the person tells me they would like 6-7.)
Although I know you don't like spicy scents I added just one drop of cinnamon because it is a powerful Leo oil and my formulas are very much influenced by astrology. Cinnamon usually fades into the background and adds a very subtle sweetness and spiciness that is hardly detected. But I guess it came to the foreground and overpowered your perfume and I wish I had known it would do that. I definitely did not intend on going against your wishes, but the results of your questionnaire said your scent should be spicy, fresh and fruity.
In hindsight, if you would have said, please include all of these notes I would have. I thought they were just suggestions and I was to pick one or two from the list. I would gladly create a new blend for you with all of those if you would like. And it is very important to me that you get a perfume you absolutely are in love with. I hope it is not too late and that you have already given the scent away, but even if you have I can still send another.
Please let me know if you would like me to send a new one (only made with all of the notes you listed.)
