Sneaking behind b8g8...

May 01, 2008 09:28

It's b8g8's fault I ended up poking on over to Adagio Teas to see what they had. The one that seriously caught my eye though was Lapsang Souchong, also known as Russian Caravan tea(black tea leaves dried in bamboo baskets over pine fires). Being the nutter I am, I also have a 2ml of the CBIHP with the same name so I had to know if they matched at least in scent. Special, I be.

Warning: if you don't care for smoky smells, this is not the tea for you. Because it lasts through brewing and well on afterwards.

Now I love smoke smells so soon I was smelling the tin akin to that of a junkie. It smells fantastic! And it's not bitter, not in the least bit. I left the bag in there through a few servings. There's a hint of sweetness that I'm guessing could only have come from the pine fire. Really mellow overall, not bold like most black teas. Highly recommended.

(I don't see a tag for Adagio teas :( )
