Show jumps.
Asher & I have been making jump wings. Basically the ones at the farm are too small, there are very few of them, there aren't enough jump cups, they are heavy etc. Basically we just dont like whats on offer, so we started to make our own at the weekend. Only one set made so far.
We have looked around on ebay and in all the catalogs and found everything to be stupidly expensive for what it is and mostly doesn't do what we want it to do. So, anyway, here are some I found on ebay and I wanted some opinions on whats available and what you like in a show jump.
Jump wings in question - on sale on ebay for £50 for the 2 jump wings alone (no poles) or £100 if you include 2 poles and 4 of the minimalistic clearly home-made style jump cups. BTW you have to collect them too. That is NOT including delivery.
We are planning on making some of these but with the plastic track on the upright slats too so these wings can be turned around and used to make a Jacobs Ladder jump too.
Traditional fitting jump cup (not FEI cup)
FEI plastic track show jump break-away cup holder (cup seen in photo too). Used for BSJA and in big show jumping events now.
