Ok...so tell me why all these people are so up in arms about stopping poverty and whatever in Africa when there is still poverty in our own country? Seems to me you should take care of your own first. I'm not going to buy food for my neighbor and let my kid go hungry. See what I'm saying?

I feel our country is a house of cards, and one day the bottom layer will collapse.

And that is something I am scared of.

What bothers me the most is that government is becoming less important and corporations are becoming more important, even in areas of public concern.

The medical and insurance industries are run for profit, not the public good. Credit rating companies can ruin your life by keeping inaccurate information, but it's our responsibility to prove they're wrong. Worst of all, management and sales is the trend in the US, leaving productivity to other nations. What happens when other nations develop the management to lead their productivity?

But I digress.
