...Well, a post that isn't me bitching, anyway.

I am about 70% ready to open my Sailor Moon RP, which is called Sailor Moon: Second Contact. It will be played on InsaneJournal, since that's what the kids do these days, I guess. Want to find out the backstory? Well then click the cut, y'all.

A forbidden romance, an unrequited love, and a dark cosmic force. Conflict and betrayal; death and reincarnation. That was the end of the Silver Millenium.

This is not that story.

If defeating the Dark Kingdom was not the definition of "impossible," then it was very, very close.

First, and perhaps most importantly, Queen Serenity was dead. Turning a deaf ear to the pleas of her court and her daughter, she took a stand against Queen Beryl. But her power alone was not enough to stop an ever-replenishing army of mindless, bloodthirsty youma. With her dying breath, she willed the Ginzuishou to take flight and find the princess, praying that Serenity would succeed where she had failed.

The princess had inherited a nightmare. There was no time for a funeral, or a coronation ceremony. Serenity was now an orphan, ruling a kingdom under siege and without her closest ally. With the Shitennou and their armies under Beryl's control, there was little Endymion could do. Rumor had it that he, too, was dead, but Serenity knew that he had retreated to Elysian until a miracle could be assembled. Serenity knew that she would need to gather all of the princesses of the Sol System; only then would she have enough power to defeat the Dark Kingdom.

The task was unenviable. The royal courts of the Inner Sol needed no convincing - they were, after all, her dearest friends. The greater population was a different story; they objected loudly, wanting no part of a conflict with savage Earthlings. By comparison, the planets of the Outer Sol were much easier to convince, but their participation was hardly uncontroversial. Serenity could not do without any of them, including the princess of Saturn. But in the presence of the three ancient talismans, there would be nothing to stop her from unleashing her own ultimate power.

All of this changed when the Dark Kingdom led an assault on the settlements of Phobos and Deimos. Mars, unsurprisingly, declared war on the spot. Knowing that civilians were fair game, no matter their race or allegiance, Mercury, Venus and Jupiter followed closely behind. And even though the dark threat of the Silence Glaive remained, few could bring themselves to object to the presence of the Outer Sol. It was then that, in secret and at great risk, Endymion resurfaced from Elysian and made it known to the Dark Kingdom that he would hide no longer. He would live or die by his faith in the reluctant Queen of the Moon - they all would.

Serenity and her army of ten marched on the D Point, fighting first against youma, and then the Shitennou. As the four generals lay mortally wounded, finally abandoned by Metallia, they urged Endymion to press on. But in spite of their betrayal, Endymion still loved them. With such a great fight ahead, he could not afford to drain his power by healing all of their wounds. To keep them safe, he transformed their bodies into the stones of their namesakes and carried them along to the final battle. There would be time enough for another solution if they made it out alive.

They did not have to wait long to face Beryl. As soon as her palace was in sight, the ground beneath their feet began to rumble. The full force of Metallia was unleashed, and Serenity feared that they would all perish under the ice before they could even fight back. Her fellow warriors were struggling to stand, groaning in agony, but they had sworn to fight as long as they had breath. They joined their hands, holding against the dark energy with great effort. Beryl resisted their efforts fiercely, and Serenity could feel the Ginzuishou straining under the pressure. It was her mother’s voice urging her on, and the billions of citizens who were looking to her for justice, which strengthened her. In the end, Beryl was no match for the forces of good, and the ten warriors of Sol banished Metallia to the deepest and darkest of the universe.

The war was over, but the battles had only begun. Serenity would now have to be a leader in peacetime, when she had not yet come to terms with the death of the queen. Endymion would have to find a way to resurrect the earthly bodies of his Shitennou (all the while trying to forgive their misdeeds), and rebuilding his kingdom on scorched earth and broken spirits. For the first time in a generation, the princesses of the Inner and Outer Sol had worked together to fight a common enemy, but becoming true allies - and friends - in the long term would undoubtedly be much more difficult. And now that the true power of the Ginzuishou had been unleashed, there would surely be no end to the hostile forces that would try to obtain it.

Destiny can change, and new futures can unfold. Welcome to Sailor Moon: Second Contact.

Currently, I'm planning on playing Endymion, and one lovesongwriter has expressed interest in Serenity. That means all nine other Senshi, the Shitennou, Luna and Artemis are currently available. Soon there will also be villains (but I haven't plotted out that far yet). Since I am ST:XI-ing up this bitch, all sorts of weird AU stuff will be happening. If this sounds like your kind of thing, please, please consider applying! All will be revealed soon. :D

fun times!, roleplaying, rpg, sailor moon, i made a thing!!
