I hate that someone I care about deeply is making an absolutely terrible choice in life. It actually bothers me to the point where thinking about it, makes my stomach turn. The worst part is, I get the impression that they're doing it for all the wrong reasons.
It sucks that you want me to censor my opinion to you, and if it involves "belittling" you in any way, you want nothing to do me as a friend ever again.
