Oof. The bear and I channeled our buying urges into a slightly less expensive purchase: we are now the proud owners (pending delivery) of a new Simmons Beautyrest queen size pillowtop mattress set. YAY! We went on a walk this afternoon and we came home a whole lot poorer, but think of the hours of blissful sleep we have ahead of us! Or, rather, that the bear has ahead of him, because the mattresses will be delivered on Tuesday, and Wednesday morning I'm leaving to go sleep on a couch for four weeks . . .
For the record, we are not impulse buyers! We really did need new mattresses. We've been planning to make this purchase since Christmas. Today we stumbled across a really good deal, though! Sixty percent off, no taxes (which is significant because our sales tax is fourteen percent), and free delivery. Of course, by the time I return home, I'm sure that the bear will have grown accustomed to sleeping on a queen size mattress and he'll feel crowded having to share with me. Poo.
