Today was Black Friday and it kind of sucked. It wasn't nearly as bad as I had expected it to be. I was actually able to find a parking space in only 10 minutes. Working kind of sucked. It is difficult being the only bilingual person in the store with lots of international customers. Couple that communication frustration with the fact that it seems like the majority of people (whether or not they speak English) haven't the ability to read a price tag/sale sign and you have a very irritated sales staff. I had a woman yell at me because she could not find the price on a leather checkbook. I opened the checkbook and the price tag was literally sticking out of the ID card slot. WTF? And she had been looking for the tag for like 15 minutes. I watched and laughed in my head for about 10 of them. Hey, when you deal with assholes constantly you have to use them to amuse you.
One of my old professors has come into my store twice in the past two weeks. The first time he was kneeling down in front of the wallets. I did not notice him until he looked up at me after I greeted him. When he saw me he shot up and looked really uncomfortable. I probed him about what type of wallet I could help him find and all of a sudden this bright (very young) professor was tongue tied and blubbering. He said "you don't have it" and literally just walked away. The second time he came in he came straight for me and struck up a conversation about how brave I am to work amongust the madness. It was quite strange, really. I don't know what is up with him but my wildest guess tells me he wants it. Haha.
Miss y'all!
