Holy cow, Batman!
Um, can you tell I'm excited?
What an episode though. I loved how my heart was racing and I wasn't sure at all what was going to happen. This was suspense at it's best. And somehow they made the even inplausable make sense. Loved, loved the shout outs to poor, dead Kate (from Tony still considering her a member of the team and the bad guy buying it like Kate dead expect with Gibbs pulling the trigger). Damn, McGee looks even hotter this year. Would love me some McGee. I adored how Tony and McGee were real partners and Tony didn't call him names. It was a good description of the show if you had never seen it (for any new viewers). I loved the Calfpow reference and the tough Ziva replacements not making the cut.
But what I loved the most? Tony and Ziva. What a way ti up the love and angst all at once and keep it interesting! The new grown up (mostly) Tony has discovered that he loves Ziva and has no interest in other women or being a pain to McGee. He just misses the woman he loves. And then when he thinks she died he can't work or anything until finally he explodes- setting up a mission that endangers his life to bring down the guy who killed her. While they are all trying to save Ziva out of love (Gibbs fatherly love, Abby sisterly love, McGee Brotherly love) it's Tony's romantic love for her that makes them go through with the plan. His "I took truth sermon so don't ask me any questions you don't want the answer to" was awesome. The show clearly stated that Tony loves her and the way Ziva was looking at him and wanting to die so he could live, she clearly has deep feelings for him. But it doesn't mean they are ready to be a boring couple with a white fence and a golden retriever. (Boring for tv, natch. I'm actually sort of quoting
eolivet's M/s icon.) They are a desert full of unresolved issues there.
Last love comment- Abby's hug at the end. So cute.
