Ok...Im a nascar fan but some of them are Retarded...
All over this:
http://msn.foxsports.com/nascar/story/3449266 dearjoanwallace I think that kind of thing is so sexist - like female fans only tune in to look at driver ass!

csberry I like the idea of the contest...as long as Gordon doesn't win. ;)
How often do you get to see driver's ass other than when they're dancing on the hoods of their cars? Hell, you get to see the pit guys' asses more as they lean into the cars or over the engines!
Maybe they should have a "Pit Crew w/ the Hottest Asses" contest?
dearjoanwallace If that's your thing, why not watch male models strut the runway or crap like that? These guys are here to race, not to be just some piece of hot ass. The whole thing is ridiculous. It's getting to the point where the only ones who are getting rides are young and attractive - like how Ganassi had to let Spencer go, because Target wanted a young mug for their flyers who only needed to qualify for races.
This is racing, not frickin' American Idol.

csberry Any sense of humor to be found there, dearjoanwallace?
As a fan of Mikey, can't you smile --just a bit-- about this contest? (What does Mikey think of this contest? He's gotta know.) Come on! It's just a light-hearted contest. :) You're right, "This is racing, not frickin' American Idol," but between races it's nice to have fun with your friends.
Besides, there are plenty of homely-looking drivers out there like Jeff Green, Tony Stewart, Kurt Busch, Greg Biffle, and Bobby Hamilton Jr. Let's face it, the jocks in school were usually good looking (okay, except the linebackers on the football team). Athletes (and I proudly fight those who say drivers aren't athletes) tend to be physically blessed to a certain extent.
If you have two equally talented drivers but one looks like Anthony Michael Hall and another like John Cusack; which would your sponsor rather have tied to their image? If you have two equally talented drivers but one is Richard Petty in 1971 and another is him in 1981; which would a car owner rather have as an investment for the stability of their business? Those two questions are sadly the economics of big dollar racing. That NASCAR is so expensive that we have lost drivers that own their cars is a completely different debate.
Spencer may be big and ugly, but he was past his prime and drove miserably on race day. Did Ganassi really put looks over talent when he got Casey Mears? If anything, Jamie McMurray's rookie performance had more to do with him getting the boot than anything else. Why have a veteran when a rookie gets you better results both on the track AND in the wallet?
dearjoanwallace Looks have absolutely nothing to do with how well a driver races, and female fans should not be stereotyped as just being after drivers' bods. That's all I'm saying. I'm allowed to state my opinion without being accused of having no sense of humour. I just think it's sick how people want to parade drivers around like pieces of meat. Sorry if I view them as people instead of as objects.
BTW, don't tell me how I should behave based on how I root for. I guess some people rely on ridiculous stereotypes because they're too lazy to think for themselves... or too stupid.
