Dear friends,
I just wanted to say, that my nineteenth was my best birthday ever, and you guys made it wonderful.
It was such a perfect day, I still can't really believe it.
Birthday lunch at Formosa, sitting outside in the sunshine with Jeff'm, Laura, Kate, PT and Justin.
It's not a complete birthday without bamboo rice.
Work was extra fun too. Everyone at the gallery got really into birthday celebrations, which was the sweetest thing. Jon put a bouquet of purple and white orchids at my desk, Siobhan made me a white cake with green icing and blue candles from a red cookbook. Justin gave me a painting, Charmaine gave me a copy of her comic book. Happy Birthday was sung to me in the boardroom, then there was the most extended Happy Hour ever, which was super fun. Especially the part where Steve the bartender made me yummy shots, and I drank one with the CEO of the Centre. Funnnny.
Dinner at Baba's and then the best part of the day: birthday festivities chez moi. Finding everyone at different places on Water Street, walking into my house to find a bottle of champagne for me from Catherine Hennessey (cause she's the most wonderful lady in this city) and Laura's mom's delicious birthday pie. (She's also the bestest)
There was my completely ridiculous/amazing "enchanted forest" (it's all in my mind, just let me play pretend) that was constructed in the backyard. I loved sitting on the grass, barefoot, with tiny little white lights all over the ground, drinking champagne and eating cracker jacks. Playing drunk-ishScattegories outside was funny (Morgan, where were you?!) but Zac's drunk antics were better. I have two peaches left, haha.
Cleaning my house was easy too. It took 10 minutes. I was impressed.
This morning was snapping back to the real world. I took PT to the airport and then Justin to the shuttle bus.
I was a bit of a sad panda.
But not for long, cause I kept thinking about my wonderful yesterday. And I wanted to thank you guys for it.
You're amazing friends.
Love,
a very tired but happy Megan
