I have a cloud with a rainbow over my head. A little bit of rain every now and then.

Roiben-- sorry. [Trying not to laugh.] Don't look so sad, I'll have to cheer you up.

This is bizarre.

[The trying-not-to-laugh just makes the rain fall a little harder.]

[Kaye notices, and she feels a twinge of guilt - a bit of rain - for it, too. She shouldn't be amused at his expense, but he was just so serious about it.]

Sorry. But at least this curse isn't as bad as a lot of the others.

[Pounce! She had to cheer him up, after all.]

[The pounce was kinda unexpected. BEDFLOP. At least the rain went back to little drizzles.]

It is uncomfortable, having these things follow us around as if they were tails.

[Yes, Roiben's misery is QUITE amusing. srs face is srs.]

Perhaps we should do something about our moods. The rain is beginning to annoy me.

[Kaye fell on to her bed with him, not really expecting that, either. The cloud above her head was mostly rain-free, but she was still partially soaked from her rain earlier and some of his.]

I don't think it's so bad.. Except it seems to change with mood. Maybe it wouldn't be so bad if we were outside.

[She starts to grin at his suggestion - and perhaps the rainbow above her head brightens - she bites his pointed ear playfully.]

Like what? You need to cheer up.

I--I'm not even certain as to why there is rain to begin with.

[That's because you're always miserable, Roiben, gawd. The drizzle lessened more and he wiped his damp hair back, eye closing at the nip.]

Perhaps it will stop in due time.

[Kaye was beginning to wonder that herself. King of Darkness, indeed.]

You think so?

[She sounded a tad mischievous at that, or perhaps amused, murmuring against his ear. She squirmed up more comfortably against him on the bed and took the opportunity to nestle her face against his neck once his damp hair was out of the way.]

[He allowed her to get comfortable and cozy with him - the closeness had started to effectively and slowly stop the rain. Which he was glad for, because he didn't look forward to being rained on the entire day.]

Yes, I do. See? [The cloud was still there, and a drop or two fell every few seconds, but nothing like before. A hand moved behind her neck, and a finger brushed against her ear a little.]

I suppose being here is a bit of a blessing, if you neglect the curses.

I'm glad you're cheering up. [Amused sarcasm to the next sentence.] My room would become flooded if you were always like that.

[Her voice was slightly muffled as her face was pressed against his neck, but it was obvious she was smiling, even with the slight sarcasm. That rainbow above her head must be glaringly bright, too. Her pointed ear wiggled a little and she placed a light kiss on his neck.]

I don't know if you could call the City a blessing.. but it's definitely a lot more bearable with the right people around.

[Roiben had to roll his eyes at that comment, but he found it strangely difficult to be offended by it.]

It is a bit of a relief. From the courts, I mean. [srsly. KING OR NOT, HE DID NEED A BREAK. At least he was telling Kaye shit about it.]

Kind of like a screwed up vacation, huh?

[Kaye was glad he was telling her shit, too - she did wonder how happy he was taking care of the courts, but she understood it was an important responsibility to him. Considering the type of rulers the courts had before..]

Yes. A screwed up vacation.

[Yeah, he said it. Your growing on him, Kaye.]

However, why was there rain on you?

[Kaye wasn't expecting him to say something like that, which was why it was all the more funny. Her face appeared away from being nestled against his neck and she was grinning, trying not to laugh too much.

However, at his question she sobered up a little.]

I was just worrying a little. My boss is leaving this place tonight. He said he would come back, though. He also left the whole shop to me. [She didn't even know one could leave from this place on their own will.]

[Ah, yes, he had heard mentions of Kaye's employment the first day they spent together. He listened, passing his fingers through her hair a little.

Question him. If he has knowledge of the way, then it would be beneficial to know in the future.

And you have said you would like to open your own coffee shop. Consider this as practice, perhaps?

I don't know if I can. I think he's left already. But I'll ask when he comes back. He seemed sure that he would.

[That was a relief, at least. Although she needed the experience, she didn't want him to be gone. Kaye starts to tremble a little from the dampness of her clothing and skin, but she doesn't seem to mind. It gives her an excuse to snuggle closer, at least.]

Mhm. You might like it too. Magical items, and not much iron, either.

[Their closeness made the trembling clear, and he raised an eyebrow, a little concerned. It didn't seem to bother her too much, but...]

Cold? [He plucked at her soggy clothing and lowered his head, pressing the tips of their noses together.] I suggest you change, unless I serve as your source of warmth.
