Despite the holiday, it was a regular ol' afternoon in room 222. Jackson had been down at the pool to swim laps and had just come back after a shower. A change of fresh clothes later, and he was sitting down on the edge of his bed to play with his phone.
There had to be an app for keeping track of the phases of the moon.
Jim
Jim had been out doing...well, nothing really but he'd been out. He was coming back now, destined to break up Jackson's solitude and he didn't care at all.
"What's up, roomie?" he asked, coming in and tossing his bag on his bed.
Jackson
"Nothing you'd care about," Jackson drawled.
Considering he was currently marking down every full moon in the forseeable future into the calendar on his phone for werewolfy reasons... that was kind of a lie.
Jim
"Probably not," Jim said, dropping onto the edge of his bed and kicking his shoes off. "I care so little about you, after all."
He smirked while he said it and flopped backwards onto his bed. "But I say that with love."
Jackson
Jackson threw a glare in his general direction, and then rolled his eyes. "I don't think I have any need for your kind of love, thanks."
He was still vaguely pissy about having to deal with the room smelling like some kind of a sex den to his delicate werewolf senses, sometimes. Yeah.
Jim
"You say that only because you haven't experienced my kind of love," Jim told him smugly. "You'd change your tune if you ever did. But that's not gonna happen."
Jackson
"I'm devastated."
He really was not.
He got up to put his phone away. It'd remind him of the moon a few days in advance, now.
Jim
"Maybe I'll change my mind some day," Jim quipped and then shrugged. "But probably not. I'm sure you'll find someone to give you love, Jackson."
… A bunny
For once, Jackson actually questioned whether it was worth it to reply with scathing retort. And decided that no, it wasn't. Talking to Jim in general was barely worth the oxygen it used up, anyway.
And after he'd put his phone down on the desk, it didn't even matter anymore.
... Because suddenly he was the cutest little fuzzy bunny, oh yes he was!
Jim
When Jackson didn't reply, Jim looked over towards Jackson...and where there was now a tiny rabbit.
And then Jim started laughing as he got off the bed.
"Aren't you adorable, Jackson!" Jim said, walking over.
Jackson
Jackson made affronted and annoyed noises.
It would've helped if his bunny indignance hadn't looked so adorable. Dammit. It was that damn twitchy nose.
Jim
Jim reached down and picked Jackson up because he could and he knew Jackson would hate it when he was back to himself.
"Yeah, yeah, I'm sure you hate this but you're totally in my care now and you're so gonna owe me," Jim told him, smirking. "Don't worry, I'll be gentle with you."
Jackson
Jackson objected to being picked up! By struggling against it! For a second, until it got obvious he was too small to actually do anything about it. Jim should be glad he didn't think to try biting.
He was going to be most annoyed yet cute little bunny, yeah.
