i. let's say, in the future, instead of leaving money/things for the people you love after you die, you can only leave songs & books. you can only leave 5 things, total. would you pick all songs? all books? how would you split it? which songs/books would you pick? why would you pick them -- because they're meaningful to you, or because they'd send a message to later generations?
personally, i would pick things that a) meant something to me but b) could serve as a message/hopefulness? i guess?
1. (book) "harry potter" by jk rowling -- because no matter what the age, there's a message for you, and because my life was/is irrevocably changed/altered/affected by it
2. (book) "pride & prejudice" by jane austen -- because it's one of the best, ever
3. (book -- technically) poetry by pablo neruda -- not sure which anthology specifically, but it's pretty much win/win no matter what you do
4. (song) "here comes the sun" by george harrison -- here comes the sun, it's all right
5. (song) "in my life" by the beatles -- i know, i know, i'm so fucking boring and lame with the beatles songs. in my life, i loved you more.
SO NOW IT'S YOUR TURN, I'M VERY INTERESTED.
ii.
I've a strange feeling with regard to you. As if I had a string, somewhere under my left ribs. Tightly knotted to a similar string in you. And if you were to leave, I'm afraid that cord of communion would snap. And I have a notion that I'd take to bleeding inwardly. As for you, you'd forget me.
