so the this semester is finally over. i finished up at 3 today and despite being exhausted from sitting in front of my computer for a week straight i'm in quite the good mood. the reason for the good mood that after the critique of our final projects in my graphic novel class i talked to my instructor about my work so i could get a more in depth review of what was working and what wasn't. he pointed out a few little things that needed to be adjusted but he made a point in both the class critique and the after class convo that he really thought the color and lighting in my 3 page spread was great and that i could definitely get a job as a colorist as long as i got the portfolio to show for it. hearing him tell me that is huge to me because it's not coming from some professor..it's coming from a professional who's been in the graphic novel and concept art industry for many years and he's not one to blow smoke up your ass. so yeah i felt pretty damn good after hearing that for two reasons...for one it's nice to know that i have the skills to get a job and two...i was the only one in the class who nailed the final assignment which was to see how we handled digital coloring. so yeah yay for that.

and on that note i'm going to make myself another daquiri. :)

oh and by the way i'll be back on the east coast one week from today. so i will be seeing some of you very soon.
