This frightens me.

While I agree that people with a history of high-risk sexual behaviour should probably be excluded from donating their organs, I think this should include everybody. I don't understand why they're focusing on this population. I really enjoyed The Toronto Star's article because it has an expert saying, over and over again, that, just like straight people, gays who aren't engaging in high-risk sexual behaviour have no reason to be excluded. And that HIV testing is easy and fast.

Also, I think the system by which they determine donors is flawed. I'm not sure most people's families would know if a person, especially if it was their child or possibly even spouse, was sexually promiscuous or using drugs. Or if they would admit it. I don't know anything about my family members' sex lives or drug use, but that doesn't mean they don't have active sex lives or use drugs.
