Well look at that... (Random Late Night Rant Warning)
"Guess Who" the movie coming out this spring based on the popular board game is going to be fantastic!
What? What'd you say? It's not based on the game?
Goc!damnit. And I was all prepared for an awesome mystery/comedy based on a ludicrous game. Y'know Clue 2... ::le sigh::
Okay, so "Guess Who" is actually a film coming out this spring starring Bernie Mac and Ashton Kutcher. It also appears to have Hillary from The Fresh Prince of Bel Air. Anyway, it look horrible, cause it's starring Bernie Mac, who I love but doesn't have the best movie history, and Ashton Kutcher, who ... doesn't have the best movie history.
The premise, essentially, the a reversal of "Guess Who's Coming to Dinner." Which, sadly, I've not yet seen. I wouldn't be at all surprised if someone out there who is making it considers it to be an adaption or remake or re-envisioning or some other trite bullshit of that flick. And, y'know, it actually could be an interesting look of race relations in todays world just like that flick. Only this time taking an interesting look at a minorty family that expects their daughter to date within their minority because "that's whats right." Something I don't really see that often addressed in the media unless it's someone complaing about whites being racist and all that.
It'd be interesting to see a movie tackle the other side for a change after all, minorities can be racist too. It'd be interesting to see a view point that doesn't really get shown that often. And, frankly, I think that could just be a damn fun flick. But alas this is a flick made by Hollywood.
Slap in a couple of randomly "hot" names. Those "urban" people seem to be popular lately so we'll use that Bernie Mac fella. And it'll be a SMASH HIT! HOORAY MONEY.

EDIT: Oh and Constantine. Now I haven't seen it, but does anyone else got an Angel vibe from it at all. I mean I know it's based on the comics, sorta, and all that. But moving it to LA really makes me notice how similar it seems to Angel
If you mixed Wes, Angel, Gunn and Spike(for comic versiony goodness) into one character. ... y'know? But... like... not as good. Anyway, it's now like 5 I jsut did some writing YAY ME! and now I think I should sleep instead of thinkign about this stuff.
