old bands
you know when you get into a band that's been broken up for a long time? like joy division or bauhaus? and sometimes, you have no hope of ever seeing that band play again (joy division), but sometimes you do, and you get to...twice (bauhaus).
other times, it's more than a band. it's an entire movement. something that effects you so deeply it changes the way you look at things. for me, that was throbbing gristle. they've been back together for a few years now, released some really excellent stuff, but consistently insisted that they would not tour the US. but they lied. they are playing at coachella, SF, NY, and FUCKING CHICAGO! and not only that, they are playing at the empty bottle, for twenty dollars a ticket. this is one of the most incredible things i have ever come across, and i can't even begin to describe how i feel right now. and that's not even to mention the fact that courtney will be joining me.
