[Miakis takes a seat next to April on the bench, looking just as impressed with the foliage, though it's not a foreign sight to her.]

Sure is pretty, huh?

[April gives Miakis a smile and a nod, before looking at the trees again.]

Yeah...this is my first time seeing something like this...

Really, you've never seen it before? [surprised look!] You've been missing out!

[Gives a sheepish grin and nod.] Pretty much, all the trees are bare where I'm from...

...So, um, is it only the tree leaves that change colors? [She truly doesn't know stuff like this orz]

Wow, really? Do you come from somewhere really cold, or...?

I think it's just the leaves, yeah! The trees are getting ready for winter, or something like that.

N-no, the trees are, um, dead...

Ah, so do they stay like that through winter? [S-so many questions orz]

Oh... that's no good. [FROWN :c]

Nope, the leaves fall off when it gets colder outside, I think it was... They come back in the springtime, though! That's just as pretty, I think.

Mmmm, but when I get back home, I'm gonna plant some trees, so that we'll be able to see things like this! [Said with great enthusiasm...would anyone seriously believe that this girl is 25?]

[Looks kinda depressed when she heard that the leaves would fall, but cheers up again when being told they come back.] Ah, that's good...Oh, I'm April, by the way!

That's a good idea! There are lots and lots of trees and stuff where I'm from, so I can't imagine a place that doesn't have any...

[She pouts a little, but with April being so excited, she can't help but perk up again.] Oh, I'm Miakis! It's nice to meet you~

Ah, where I'm from is pretty much a wasteland, but I'm certain that there will be lots of trees one day! [S-so much optimism.]

That's kind of sad... What happened to make your world like that, do you know?

[evers_hacker]

[April looks kinda uncertain for a moment but it doesn't last long.] There was a war, about a century or so ago...and there was this volatile substance that was being held in factories in each country at the time. When bombs were dropped, it somehow triggered the substances and there was a huge chain of explosions...it wiped everything out...and because of the substance, all the plants died...[Shifts uncomfortably, this is far too depressing of a topic to think about for April.]

B-but, we're rebuilding now, so it's only a matter of time till things get back to how they were before.

Wooow~ That's awful! [She puts on her best smile in spite of that, as she feels kind of bad for bringing it up and making April sad. :C] I hope things go back to normal there soon...

[It's alright, as April soon cheers up. She's never capable of staying sad for long and so she gives Miakis a smile.] There's a huge group of us working on it and we've already made big breakthroughs, so it won't be long now!

That's great! I couldn't imagine living in a place without lots of plants and sunshine~
