It's been floating around LJ and now it's time for a reckoning!
Name a TV series in which you have seen every episode at least twice:
Farscape.
Name a (current) show you can't miss:
Lost. I mean, you literally can't miss an episode anyway or you're buggered. But also because it's sodding Lost! As for stuff that's on right now and I actually sit down in front of the telly to watch it AS IT HAPPENS, then Being Human. What an absolutely amazing show that is. And Charlie Brooker's Newswipe, now that it's back.
Name an actor that would make you more inclined to watch a show:
Probably Ben Browder.
Name an actor who would make you less likely to watch a show:
That twit from shitty Sliders. Err... Jerry O'Wotsit. If it ever gets picked up, I probably won't watch that new David Tennant show on NBC because he's in it.
Name a show you can, and do, quote from.
Anything Alan Partridge-related. All the time. I'm sorry.
Name a show you like that no one else enjoys:
Probably Robin Hood. I've yet to knowingly meet someone who also likes it. Everyone in my family hates it and they have no idea I've secretly got it all on DVD. Hell, even the fans started hating it around season three. NOT ME, THOUGH (apart from Kate and Archer who were shit).
Name a TV show which you've been known to sing the theme song:
I love a good theme song, me. I probably sing along to all of them. Even Lost, and that doesn't have a theme song. I also like to talk along to opening narration. Please kill me.
Name a show you would recommend everyone to watch:
Ashes to Ashes, because it's my Current Favourite Show (a very nebulous title, to be fair) and is made of pure brilliance and loveliness.
Name a TV series you own:
Erm. What is your favourite episode of your favourite series?
That would be The Caves of Androzani from Doctor Who, yo. The brilliant writing, the direction, Peter Davison's astonishing performance (i.e. the best performance of an actor as the Doctor there has ever been)... it's perfection. Apart from the Magma Beast, obviously.
A show you mean to watch, but you just haven't gotten around to yet:
I have quite a few: The West Wing, Damages, the first two series of Skins, The Vampire Diaries, Rome, Monster, Medium, Friday Night Lights, Xena, Veronica Mars...
Ever quit watching a show because it was so bad?
Yes, Heroes. Not that it started badly, but after the truncated season two it just kept piling up endless moments of fail on top of each other, until it became a horrible, enormous mountain of pure, ceaseless fail. I also went off Eureka (mediocre as hell), Dexter (went downhill after season one), Six Feet Under (season one was near-perfection, but then all the characters just became horribly unlikeable and I couldn't stand to watch them anymore) and Hex (which was pretty shit from the start, but I liked the central relationship and Michael Fassbender).
Name a show you aren't interested in watching, not in the least:
The Wire. Who needs it when you've got The Shield? Despite Lance Reddick being in it, the endless praise from the broadsheets and some of its obnoxious, snobby fans who won't brook any criticism of it is so irritating it cancels out any possible desire I have to watch it.
Name a show that's made you cry multiple times:
Too many to name. One Piece recently made me blub quite spectacularly, though.
Oldest TV show you like?
Doctor Who, innit.
Newest TV show you like?
Misfits. It came out right at the end of 2009.
What do you eat when you watch TV?
I don't usually. I drink lots of water.
How often do you watch TV?
Every. Single. Day. For hours.
Do you have a favorite talk show?
I can't say that I do. They're usually depressing and involve people and opinions that anger me.
What's the last TV show you watched?
That would be episode 12 of Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood.
What's your favourite/preferred genre of TV?
Sci-fi, fantasy, comedy, or series that don't necessarily have those things, but do have great drama and characters and are good. So basically most things. Yeah.
What's your least favourite genre of TV?
Soaps. Zzzzzz.
What was the first TV show you were obsessed with?
Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends, especially the series narrated by Ringo. I watched my videos of it endlessly and as such drove my parents slightly mad.
What TV show do you wish you never watched?
Probably the first episode of the US version of Life on Mars. It made me feel physically sick due to how bad it was. Also, with a few exceptions, the first two seasons of Torchwood. See also the "quit watching" question.
What's the weirdest show you enjoyed?
It's Lexx. I mean, it's obviously Lexx. It can't be anything else. This is a show that has killer alien carrots that climb up people's arses, flying alligators, a penis shower, a spaceship that says "ouch" when it gets hit, talking brains, homicidal robot heads, Tim Curry... The Mighty Boosh gets a well-earned honourable mention.
What TV show scared you the most?
Sapphire & Steel (specifically Assignment 4 with the no-face man, but all of the stories have their moments), The X-Files (Home, Unruhe, both Tooms episodes) and Millennium (all the Lucy Butler episodes). Supernatural finally scared me after four seasons with the episode Family Remains.
What is the funniest TV show you have ever watched?
I'm Alan Partridge, followed by It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia. And in a non-sitcom capacity, any of Charlie Brooker's stuff, because he's a genius. His rants and use of descriptive language are amazing and hilarious.
Which do you think is the best TV series ever made?
What, ever?! Oh alright, Babylon 5. It's not perfect, but in terms of sheer ambition, writing and emotional punch it just has to be Babylon 5. I don't think I've ever given so many episodes in a TV series 10/10 ratings before or since, and the ending is just stunning and beautiful and absolutely devastating beyond words.
