Well just to be clear (and I am sure you already know this) the Isaac thing was completely anime only. The manga does start in Liore too and the flashback that we are seeing in the next episode is revealed much later. Still there were little reveals that are relevant to what happens later in the manga plot which I liked. I don't want to tell you what they are though so not to ruin it for you ( ... )

I do indeed know about Isaac and that Lior kicks off the manga as well (I read the early chapters years ago). I'm assuming that repeated shot of the person's eyes have something to do with the manga, right?

I'll be interested to see if my theory about the flashbacks before Lior holds true or not!

I've heard that the manga is coming to an end soon, yes. I guess that's why the series has started when it has, so there'll be plenty of time for the manga to end before the anime does.

I think you're right about the humour. Too many characters introduced did sort of take away from the humour a bit, especially if you're not familiar with them like some viewers will be.

I'm still torn over whether to read the manga now or not. I've probably left it a bit late, really. I'm looking forward to seeing all the new/different stuff, regardless!

Well pay attention to my journal, if I start bitching about how they changed things then I would start reading it again because it's fantastic. However I am hoping this time the anime will remain faithful.

Oh yes indeed ;) (actually I am surprised they showed that character so early but I guess it doesn't change much in the long run).
