I’m in a weird mood, so I thought I’d go with it… How many of you are closet singers?
I love to sing: In the shower, in the car, heck I've even been known to sing in the office, although that is frowned upon given my voice. Sometimes it's a song that makes me sing, sometimes it's a certain mood I get into that gets me going.
Today I'm in a singing mood(I'm feeling much better); I have a special playlist on the iPod with some of my favorite sing along songs. So, I went through the list and picked out my top 10 songs that when I hear on the radio or iPod I just have to belt out to. In no particular order Heather's Top 10 singing songs:
1) American Pie - Don Mclean (classic oldie, 8 minutes 34 seconds long, this song reminds me of my dad since it’s because of him I know all the words. I even know the words to the Weird Al spoof “the saga begins”
2) I Hate Myself for Loving You - Joan Jett (Don’t ask, I just love this song)
3) Let Er Rip - The Dixie Chicks (I’m a sucker for the Chicks, especially songs like this)
4) Never Say Goodbye - Bon Jovi (I was raised on the music of the 80’s and I’m from Bon Jovi’s home state of New Jersey. This song is a staple of every 30-something year old Jersey Girl’s music collection. This song can be interchanged with “I’ll be there for you”)
5) Scenes from an Italian Restaurant - Billy Joel (I’m a huge fan of Billy; this song was never a favorite till I saw him in concert with Elton John in the early 90’s.
6) Sweet Transvestite - The Rocky Horror Picture Show Soundtrack & Summer Nights- Grease Soundtrack (My best friend Mary, my sister Liz and I use to drive around listening to these two soundtracks. We had some kick-ass times in that car, driving around singing.)
7) 1985- Bowling for Soup (This song cracks me up, because I actually know a few women who still think it’s 1985)
8) Holding Out For a Hero - Bonnie Tyler (This song is best on a gorgeous day when you can roll down the windows of the car.)
9) Talk Dirty To Me - Poison (Please don’t judge me, maybe it’s an 80’s thing, I’m such a sucker for Poison… I can’t think of anything redeeming about them other then a few catchy songs that are my guilty pleasures.
10)Always Look on the Bright Side of Life - Monty Python (Love Python love this song, it makes me smile and sometimes that’s all you can ask for… Also, non-Python fans will stare while you’re singing along and that’s good for a laugh too…
Okay, so i'm curious, what songs get everyone else singing? Inquiring minds want to know!!
