Last night a label saved my life....

Some people view heavan as a Half A Cow showcase gig. My heavan is Candle Records Gigs with the entire label getting up to sing "We Are The World" at the end of the night.

I'm with the Half a Cow showcase as heaven. I like osme of the stuff Candle put out, but I haven't heard a lot of it, so never got really into it. Although when I heard they were closing, I did go and buy their 4 pack special of compilation CD's so I can at least experience more of it than I have before. I've only listennd to half of them, and I don't mind them. that sounds like I don't really like them, but I do like them, I'm justnot excited by them as the same way I have been about Half a Cow stuff. Although I have noticed that over the year I've gone through record label phases. Half a Cow will always be my favourite, but there was a time when everything I was buying was from Vitamin records (David Lane, Andy White, the Millars Tale, Dead Marineds), and more recently Laughing Outlaw Records (Perry Keyes, Dave McCormack, Jason Walker). It's strange but I can associate various record labels with certain periods of my life. I am sad that Candle is going though. Regardless of me not being quite as excited about their stuff as I have about other record labels, it's always sad to see the demise of an independent label. Without them, we'd all be forced to listen to what the masses dictate as good.
This is a much longer post than I intended. Sorry about that.
