✘ Core Requirements
Here is the list of required classes for all attending students. You must complete at least 12 credits per semester and acquire a total of 120 credits to graduate. Once you have created your schedule, include it somewhere on your journal for reference purposes.
The core requirements are a set of courses EVERYONE has to take, regardless of major or degree, in order for Evergrove to produce well-rounded students. There is some variety though, so the core requirements can be tailored to students' majors and interests. The core consists of 44 hours of the minimum 120 to earn a degree and for the most part is taken care of during freshman and sophomore years.
Classes are numbered with a particular course code which is a quick way to identify courses. The first digit identifies what level the course is, 1 being Freshman and 4 being Senior. The second digit identifies how many credit hours the class is worth. The last two numbers identify the course within its department. So ENGL 1301, is an English course, Freshman level, worth 3 credit hours, and Freshman course 01 within the English department. (When making up numberings for classes, please keep this format in mind.)
Courses are either referred to by their code or by their actual name, depending on the situation. Everyone knows ENGL 1301 is the first Freshman English class (as literally everyone has to take it). But PHIL 2306 isn't so easily identified, so calling it "Introduction to Ethics" might be easier. (To make it even more confusing, there can be more than one class for each course. All the individual possible classes of a course are called 'sections'. So two people can both be taking ENGL 1301 but not be in the same class because one is in section X and the other is in section Y, but we'll not get into that, mkay?)
If your character is a Freshman and wants to take Junior or Senior classes, please inquire first. We know it may be possible to skip something logically (ie. paying a fee to take a
credit-by-examination test), but it would still require moderator approval before you claim they are super genius enough to do so.
And if there is a class not listed here that you would like to take, feel free to choose from another college course so as long as you link back the reference.
