Bachelor party!

Mar 22, 2010 04:30

This past saturday was my brother's bachelor party AND his fiance's bachelorette party at the same time.  Philip and Whitney picked me up late Saturday morning, and then we went to pick up two of Whitney's bride's maids/cohorts Jacci and Jackie.   We went to Whitney's parent's house then to drop the girls off and pick up Whitney's brother Matthew.  Philip, Matthew and I rode in one car, and Whitney, Jacci, Jackie, Kelly and Katie (her other two bride's maids) rode in the other car.  Philip's friends Jason and Justin were meeting us in Savannah, and had to drive from much further away (Rock Hill, I believe).
We all made it to Savannah in about two hours.  Philip wanted to go buy some kind of shoes from a Halfmoon Outfitters in the big shopping area in the middle of Savannah, so we found a place to park and started walking around.  The Halfmoon place was pretty cool.  They had all this hiking and camping supplies, pocket knives and backpacks (I love backpacks!).  Philip found the shoes he was looking for, and they were crazy looking!  They had a space for each of your toes, and it looked like you were just wearing another foot.  He then wore them for the rest of the weekend to show them off to anyone he met.
Whitney then calls us and tells us they're at the wrong hotel, and how to get to the right hotel.  We all go there to check in, and they have a Valet parking service and everything.  This hotel was amazing looking.  We had two huge rooms: one for the girls and one for the guys.  They each had two giant comfy beds and a foldout sofa.  There was this huge television sitting in there, too, though we hardly bothered to use it at all.  Jason and Justin got there shortly after we checked into the hotel and we all hung out in the rooms and talked for awhile.
The girls finally decided on what they wanted for dinner, so we walked out to meet them at the restaurant.  Except, the restaurant workers were being very rude to the girls, so we all left rather quickly and looked at about eight more restaurants before we finally stayed at one.  I have no idea what it was called, but the food was wonderful,  especially my grilled tuna sandwich.  We were there for quite awhile because our waitress vanished after we ordered for at least half an hour.
Then all the guys and I went looking for a liquor store to get some drinks for the evening.  We probably circled the entire city looking, and finally found a pretty creepy little store.  Justin bought several bottles of alcohol, and Philip bought some Smirnoff for his wife-to-be.  Then we all headed back to the hotel.  We set the drinks down, went to take a shot or two, and got a call that we needed to hurry up for the ghost tour they had planned.  So everyone downed a shot (or more, I don't know what they all did.), and we ran out the door and rushed down the street to meet at the giant graveyard for a "History and Hauntings walking tour!"
The tour was pretty awesome.  It was a lot of history, and I'm sure I've forgotten nearly everything I learned, but the tourguide was very entertaining.  I was amused that Savannah hauntings and Charleston hauntings seem to have a lot in common, and that both cities paved over their graveyards to make room for expanding populations.  We walked around on this tour for about an hour and a half (from from 7pm until it actually got dark), and then everyone headed back to the hotel again!
Well this time the boys and the girls got lots of drinking going on while we waited for a cab to take us all to the karaoke bar (which we found on the ghost tour, haha).  We got to the bar and were looking around for a place to sit.  The girls all sat down with an older man and started having a great time.  Katie and Matt had to leave after awhile because they weren't old enough to hang out.  Apparently if you're under 21 in Savannah you're not even allowed to be in a bar, even if you're not going to be drinking.  The two of them went back to the hotel and told us to have a good time.   The boys finally found some seats on the other side of the bar.
We all wandered back and forth between the "girl party" and the "boy party" and just generally had a good time and a bunch of drinks.  The girls got a ton of free drinks, and Jason and Justin paid for pretty much everything on our side.  Kelly and Whitney did three songs in front of the whole bar, and were so drunk that it was highly amusing.  We were all doing this scavenger hunt thing (get phone numbers, hit on a stranger, etc.), so I told Philip to go get this girls number.  She was totally hot!  He actually went outside and asked for her number, and got it!  She was on her bachelorette party, and was doing almost the same scavenger hunt thing.  The whole thing was very amusing.  Lots of stuff happened at that bar, and drinking or not, there's no way I can put it all into a picture that makes sense.  It was crazy awesome!
Philip had a bit too much and was getting tired by about midnight or one, so the guys all got ready to leave.  We got back to the hotel and Philip went straight to sleep.  Matt had fallen asleep at some point in time, and Katie was back in her room just watching television.  So Justin and Jason set up their game system and we played a little bit of some game (Castle Crashers?).  They finished quickly, though, and went to go to sleep.  The girls came back not long after that, after the bar had closed, and came crashing into the room.  Justin and I sent them back out, and Justin went to make sure everyone got in okay since they were really drunk.
Since I was still up, Jacci texted me to come hang out as well.  She and I were terribly amused by Kelly and Whitney's drunken ramblings.  Kelly eventually went to sleep, and Jason took Whitney on a walk to try and get her to sleep.   Jacci and I talked for a long time, until she got tired, and since Jason and Whitney still weren't back we headed to bed and let them figure it out.
I'm not sure I actually fell asleep, because the next thing I knew Whitney and Kelly were waking everyone up for breakfast and it was about 8:30.  I waited for my stomach to settle and went to eat a little bit, and Jacci and Jackie joined me shortly after.  We all had breakfast, got packed up, cleaned the rooms up, and got everything ready to go.  We finally left at about 10:30, and got back to Summerville at about quarter after noon.

It was an awesome time, and I wish I could remember more specifics.  I'm sure when Whitney puts all of her pictures online I'll remember lots more stuff and be amused and happy all over again.  I haven't had this much fun in a very long time, and I wish my brother could have more parties!
He's getting married in two weeks time, and so I kinda get a big party on the second, and the wedding and another party on the third!  I'm very excited about those, too.
